Our goal is to teach our students to be men. The priority is not their knowledge or skill in building, repairing and improving things but also their attitude and character. For all the skill in the world means nothing if it is not exercised and developed through Godly principles. In this modern age character and discipline are quickly fading. The virtue and honor God has designed in us is being shunned. Because of this grown men expect to have all the privileges of a man but not the responsibility of a man. We seek to instill quality and excellence into the lives of those who are entrusted to us.
In the classroom character and hands on skills required and incumbent on young men of excellence are developed hand in hand. Each student is required on a weekly basis to learn one new character quality and find examples of other students showing that quality. The purpose for this is to help them focus on and understand a positive outlook on others and to better learn each quality. Our students are taught the basic functions of each tool and how to operate it safely. In building an object each student is required to draw perspective drawings of, and plan for the finished product. For example, What are the dimensions, type, and amount of material needed. They also learn practical, everyday, around-the-house repairs.
1. Basic Mechanics
2. Welding/fabrications
3. Computers/Electronics
4. Carpentry/Home improvement
At the completion of their training each student should have the ability and
understanding the basic things necessary to enable them to thrive in the work place. Helping them to
not just keep a job but advance in it. They will know how to plan, design, and build
crafty works of art that can provide a great source of income. They will be able to do
many practical repairs on homes and equipment.
The principles taught here are designed by God and must be exercised in order
to thrive on His purpose for each young man's life.
Colossians 3:22-24 says,
"Servants,
obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as
manpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: and whatsoever ye do, do it
heartily, as to the Lord and not unto man; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the
reward of the inheritance; for ye serve the Lord Christ."
Young men are in dyer need of
purpose and fulfillment. Unless they are prepared how should they be expected to meet
the challenge that is life?
